Plant-Herbivore Interactions

Plant-Herbivore Interactions Herbivory can influence numerous aspects of plant performance that may potentially modify the structure and function of grassland ecosystems. However, herbivore effects are often indirect and may interact with various processes at higher scales of grassland organization. Many conventional interpretations of plant response to herbivory have not been supported by contemporary research because they failed to recognize the importance of scale. Research must identify the appropriate processes and interactions at the necessary levels of grassland organization to effectively and accurately interpret vegetation responses to herbivory.
